Wer kennt das nicht – man sitzt am Keykubat-Strand oder teilt den Blick der legendären Kleopatra – und über der Burg erstrahlt der Mond in seiner traumhaften Fülle! Der Wind weht sanft über das Mittelmeer und die Boote ziehen gen Horizont auf der Suche nach einem satten Fang.
Fast gewinnt man den Eindruck, als sei der Mond größer als alles andere, jemals da Gewesene. Und doch – es handelt sich “nur” um den kleinen Freund und Erdtrabanten, der uns monatlich begleitet und zu allen romantischen Nächten dazugehört.
Aber warum erscheint der Mond manchmal so nah sein? Warum so groß?
Das Phänomen „Mondtäuschung“ hat schon Aristoteles in seinen Schriften im Jahr 350 vor Christus erwähnt. Die Täuschung besteht darin, dass der Mond am Horizont wesentlich größer erscheint als am Zenit.
Viele Menschen schätzen ihn sogar doppelt so groß ein! Das stelle man sich mal vor (für die Sonne gilt übrigens dasselbe, aber da niemand direkt in die Sonne schaut, fällt das weniger auf)!
Die Erklärung für das Phänomen: Beurteilt man die Größe des Mondes am Horizont, dienen Bäume, Häuser oder Berge im Blickfeld als Anhaltspunkte. Das Gehirn erhält einige Informationen über den Abstand und kommt zu einer völlig anderen Einschätzung, als wenn der Mond ohne Vergleichsmöglichkeit hoch am Himmel steht. Schaut man jedoch durch ein Loch in einem Stück Papier, verschwindet der Unterschied, weil das Gehirn stets das Papier als Referenz benutzt.
Zudem schwankt die Mondtäuschung stark von Mensch zu Mensch. Es soll sogar Menschen geben, die überhaupt keinen Größenunterschied feststellen.
Das ist ein deutlicher Hinweis darauf, dass jedes Sehsystem Entfernungen individuell bestimmt. Dabei muss es sich ständig korrigieren, vor allem während des Wachstums in der Kindheit.
Ein weiteres Beispiel für die Situationsabhängigkeit des Sehens: Bückt man sich und blickt zwischen den Beinen hindurch, verschwindet die Mondtäuschung. Sehforscher deuten dieses Kuriosum so, dass sich verfremdete Objekte wie kopfstehende Berge nicht als Referenz eignen, um den Abstand des Mondes zu schätzen.
Ist doch interessant, wie die Sinne uns also im geraden Stehen einen Streich spielen – also nur das, was wir kopfüber sehen, ist real?

I was just looking for this information for a while. Right after 6 hrs of continuous Googleing, finally I obtained it inside your website.
